SC Hispanic Leadership Council announces
scholarships for SC Hispanic/Latino college students

Inspiring, Enabling and Mentoring Hispanic Youth


The South Carolina Hispanic Leadership Council (SCHLC) is proud to announce the SCHLC Scholarship opportunities. These scholarships are made possible through a collaboration with State Farm Insurance and its Good Neighborhood Program. “We continue to be committed to empower the next generation of Hispanic leaders in South Carolina” said Ivan Segura, Treasurer of the SC Hispanic Leadership Council and Director of REACH Youth Project. “Our vision is to give the Hispanic population an equal opportunity for success so they can become educated and empowered with the tools to achieve and reach their goals in life”

Six (6) five hundred dollar scholarships are available to South Carolina Hispanic/Latino students who are enrolled in an accredited College or University for the school year 2011-2012. The recipients will be selected by the SC Hispanic Leadership Council’s Board based on the following criteria: Financial need, academic and extra curricular achievement, community involvement, and superior leadership and promise of contribution to the Hispanic community

The scholarships will be presented at the SCHLC's Scholarships Awards Reception to be held on October 21, 2011 at the Select Health of South Carolina's Community Center located on 3315 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 2921.

Applications are available through the SC Hispanic Leadership Council website: www.schlc.org. Application must be received/postmarked by October 15, 2011 at SC Hispanic Leadership Council, PO BOX 7013 Columbia SC 29202.
